 Introduction

 



Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) is a mandatory and vital training program for all Presidents-Elect for Rotary Clubs within a given district or group of districts (multi PETS). The purpose of the PETS is to provide club presidents with the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to lead an effective club. This training takes place in all 162 countries of the Rotary world, currently every year during March. For details go to the About PETS page.

Great Lakes Rotary PETS is a multi PETS that includes Districts 6290 - NW Michigan plus Wawa Ontario, 6310 - NE Michigan, 6360 - SW Michigan, 6380 - four SE Michigan counties and Kent Co., Ontario, 6400 - SE Michigan, incld. Detroit, plus Essex Co. Ontario, and 6540 - Northern Indiana. Can you identify your RI District (open map in new window)?

Rotary 101
Come early to PETS for a great introduction to Rotary-speak and the larger world of Rotary. Perfect for newer Rotarians and for those who have not been in a leadership role for a while. RSVP to your District Governor Elect.

Special Assistant Governors forum
Review your responsibilities to your district and your clubs, get ideas on ways to serve most effectively, and how the AG role prepares you for future Rotary service. RSVP to your District Governor Elect.

Special Program

Partners/Spouses Program
This fun session includes an outing to a nearby museum on Friday morning, followed by a lunch at the historic Park Club and an afternoon service project at the Radisson. Please RSVP Sue Goldsen via email or phone 517-937-5343.

 

 Registration

 

Register Online

 

Everyone attending PETS must register, including all President-elect's (PEs). Both the PETS registration and hotel reservations are handled from this web site's Register Online page. Online registration will begin January 14, 2013.

The registration fee is $170. Payments must be made with a credit card.

Reminder: The PE Registration fee is paid in advance by the club.

Your hotel room is not covered by the registration fee.

 Preparing for PETS



President-elect's must attend the entire PETS program. All Great Lakes Rotary PETS events are being held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel, downtown Kalamazoo, MI. The times and locations for the seminars and events for PEs, PNs, AGs, partners, etc... are provided on the Schedule page.

It's highly recommended that you prepare in advance for the seminars. Look over the RI resources available for downloading.

What to wear:

Daily sessions are "Rotary Casual." Slacks with sweaters or jackets for men, slacks or skirts with sweaters or jackets for women are ideal. But remember this is a business meeting, so please no T-shirts, shorts, jeans etc.

Saturday - Traveling Clothes

Please remember to always wear your Rotary pin.
